Who We Are

Although BHH loves to sing together and share their talents throughout the community, music is not their priority. God has, however, gifted them and given them a platform to share what it truly means to be a Christian and to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. This is their goal as men of God, fathers, husbands, and ministers of the Gospel through the medium of music.

Lamar Butler
	Lamar’s testimony of how Jesus Christ can radically change a life shines through his distinctive soulful/country vocals. Though he’s only been singing a few years, his talent far outweighs his experience. Lamar and his wife, Shannon, and sons Storm and Quinton live on his family’s home land in Salemburg, NC. Lamar works as an insurance agent in Clinton, NC.

Darren Hughes
	Growing up singing and playing piano with his family, Darren began pursuing music as a career after receiving a degree in music at Tennessee Temple University. He is now one of the pastors at Central Baptist. Darren and Margy, his wife, have recorded two CD’s of songs they’ve written and have adopted a daughter, Sophia from China. Darren Hughes

Growing up singing and playing piano with his family, Darren began pursuing music as a career after receiving a degree in music at Tennessee Temple University. Michael Hayes
	Michael spent several years on the road sharing his soaring tenor vocals across the country with Heaven Bound and the Anchormen. He is now thrilled to be able to watch his son, Branson, play baseball and to see his daughter, Courtney, grow up into a beautiful young lady. Michael and his wife Margaret make their home in “the hollerin’ capital of the world,” Spivey’s Corner, NC. He also enjoys working in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff.

Matt Parker
	Although traditionally a trio, Butler, Hughes & Hayes is now occasionally a quartet with the addition of their friend, Matt Parker, from Four Oaks, NC. Matt is new to group singing but is adding an exciting dimension to BHH concerts.
